PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's rowing team began its fall campaign by competing at the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta on Saturday afternoon in Philadelphia.
The Varsity 8+ boat (Alexandra Byrne (coxswain), Stroke: Katherine Cousart, 7: Carolina Giraldo, 6: Sarah Nelson, 5: Allison Hoffmann, 4: Amalia Hack, 3: Anna Kohler, 2: Kathryn Benedetto, Bow: Larissa Kehne) rowed to a 17th-place showing out of 19 teams, completing the race with a time of 15:33.54. Navy took first in the event with a time of 14:19.48, followed by boats from Trinity and Drexel.
F&M also took part in the Novice 8+ final, when a boat of Nicole Maurici (coxswain), Stroke: Rachel Topper, 7: Emilie MacDonald, 6: Jamie Davidow, 5: Kassala Collington, 4: Cylena Stewart, 3: Leah Issokson, 2: Annetter Von Jaglinsky, Bow: Lindsey Dannenberg placed 29th out of 36 teams and a time of 20:07.01. Connecticut was the first boat to complete the race with a time of 15:22.42, followed by Dusquene and St. Josephs.
The Diplomats conclude the fall portion of their schedule on Saturday when F&M competes at the Head of the Occoquan Regatta in Farifax, Va.
