LANCASTER, Pa – Franklin & Marshall's women's basketball team fell by a 55-32 tally in Centennial Conference (CC) women's basketball on Wednesday evening.
The Diplomats dropped to 12-12, 9-10 CC while the Blue Jays improved to 20-4, 17-2 CC.
A three from Sarah Pisani got the scoring going in the first quarter while Sarosha Parsons knocked down two free throws to keep the 5-4 advantage in F&M's favor with 6:01 left in the quarter. Another three from Pisani followed by a layup from Kristin Hamill kept the Diplomats' lead at 14-13 at the end of the first.
Johns Hopkins came out strong, going on an 11-0 run in the opening five minutes to take the lead. A layup from Lindsey Powers cut the deficit back to single-digits at 26-18 going into the break.
The Blue Jays kept the momentum in the third, taking a 34-18 lead, but Powers knocked down a free throw to stop the run at the 7:15 mark. Johns Hopkins kept the pace, taking a 20-point lead, but Alisyn Narracci notched a free throw in the final minute, keeping the score at 42-22 going into the final quarter.
A layup followed by a three-pointer from Haley Pilone got the scoring started for F&M while Hamill notched the final bucket of the game to bring the final score to 55-32.
Hamill paced the offense with 10 points and eight boards. Pisani followed with seven points and Parsons tallied six.
The Diplomats close out the regular season at Muhlenberg on Saturday for a 2:00 p.m. contest.
