BRYN MAWR, Pa. – Four Diplomats scored in double digits along the way to a 75-50 win over Bryn Mawr in Centennial Conference (CC) women's basketball action on Thursday evening.
The Diplomats improved to 7-6, 4-4 CC while the Owls dropped to 1-12, 0-8 CC.
A three-pointer from Haley Pilone increased F&M's lead to 7-4 less than four minutes into the game. Sparked by a Kristin Hamill layup, the Diplomats went on a 9-0 run over the final three minutes of the quarter to take a 20-11 lead.
F&M opened the second quarter with an 8-0 run that included seven points from Pilone to increase the deficit 17. A free throw from Lindsey Powers at the 4:45 mark extended the Diplomats' lead to 29-13. Hamill closed out the quarter with five more points to give F&M a 34-18 edge going into the break.
The Diplomats kept the momentum in the second half with a Jennifer Falconiero jumper bringing the score to 42-20 with 6:31 left in the third. Emily Moran converted on the and-one opportunity to bring F&M's lead to 20 points with just over a minute left.
Kenna Williams notched the first four points of the final quarter, sparking F&M on a 7-0 run over three and a half minutes. A Sarah Pisani layup increased the lead to 64-37 while the Diplomats were able to keep the pace to come away with the 75-50 victory.
Pilone paced the offense with 18 points, going 6-for-12 from the floor, followed by Hamill with 15. Williams notched her seventh double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
F&M returns to Lancaster on Saturday, hosting Muhlenberg for a 1:00 p.m. contest.
