F&M Takes Fifth at Paul Short Run

LEHIGH, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall used a strong team effort to claim fifth in the men's college white race Friday at the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University.

The meet, divided into gold, brown, and white divisions based off of times submitted by each team beforehand, featured numerous teams from Divisions I, II, and III.

The Diplomat top seven posted an average time of 27:34 on the day, putting five runners into the 29th-55th positions.

Freshman Patrick Manion was the first across the line for the F&M, finishing 29th with a time of 27:02.

Manion was closely followed by fellow freshman Bryce Williams, finishing in 34th with a time of 27:08.

Senior James Hamilton was 36th at 27:10, J.T. Paganelli finished in 42nd with a time of 27:15, and Spencer Lyman took 55th at 27:25.  

Brien Miceli earned 109th with a time of 28:21, while John Vallachi rounded out the first seven for F&M with a time of 28:34, good for 117th.

The Diplomats return to action on Saturday, Oct. 17 at the Gettysburg Invitational, with the opening gun set for 10:30 a.m.
