NEWVILLE, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall placed 13th out of 47 teams with 392 points at the 2014 Cross Country Mid-East Regionals at Dickinson. It was the second-best finish under head coach John Stoudt and the second top-15 finish for the Diplomats in the last three years.
Carnegie Mellon won the event with 90 points, while Widener (115) placed second and Johns Hopkins (119) finished third.
Bryan Andrews placed 21st and picked up his third All-Region honor with a time of 25:47.0 to lead F&M in the 8k course, while Haverford's Charlie Marquardt won the event with a time of 24:57.4.
Andrews is close to a national qualifying time, but will have to wait until tomorrow evening to find out if he earned a trip to the NCAA National Championships next weekend.
Luk Olenginski placed 44th out of 343 runners in 26:09.1, while James Hamilton and Michael Whalen took 98th and 108th respectively. Greg Olenginski finished with a time of 27:24.2 to round out the top-five.
