Session I Results | Live Results

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall's Antonio Pelusi fell in his opening round match at the 2019 NCAA DI Wrestling Championships in Pittsburgh on Thursday afternoon. The Diplomats' 285-pound grappler will return to action in tonight's Consolation bracket, where he'll take on Drexel's No. 18 seed Joey Goodhart.

Session two begins tonight at 7:00 p.m. with the Consolation First Round. Live results can be followed here and live video coverage of the session can be accessed here. ESPN is also broadcasting session two in its entirety.

Pelusi began competition against Penn State's No. 2 seeded Anthony Cassar and battled early on. Neither grappler registered a point in the opening minutes of the first period as Pelusi fought off a shot with 20 seconds to go in the frame. However, Cassar managed a takedown in the final seconds to capture a 2-0 advantage.

In the second period, Cassar chose bottom and escaped with 1:55 remaining. He secured his second takedown less than a minute later and turned Pelusi at the 4:20 mark for the fall.

Tonight's opponent Joey Goodhart is no stranger to Pelusi as the pair met twice at the 2019 EIWA Tournament. Both wrestlers won a match at the competition and have met a total of five times in their collegiate careers with Goodhart owning a slight 3-2 advantage.
