CLEVELAND, Ohio – Antonio Pelusi fell in his opening round match at the 2018 NCAA DI Wrestling Championships in Cleveland on Thursday afternoon. The Diplomats' 285-pound grappler is set to compete in tonight's pigtails against American's Brett Dempsey.

Session two opens with the pigtails tonight at 7:00 p.m. Pelusi will begin the session on deck for mat two. Fans can follow along with Pelusi's match through live results here. Pelusi opened action against the bracket's No. 5 seed Samuel Stoll of Iowa. Stoll recorded a takedown 26 seconds into the match and turned Pelusi at the 2:25 minute mark of the opening period to record the pin.
A rematch of the EIWA Fifth-Place match is on the horizon for Pelusi tonight, who edged Dempsey by a 2-1 (TB2) score to clinch an automatic NCAA bid on March 4. The winner of the consolation-round pigtail match will take on Virginia's Tyler Love in the later stages of tonight's session.
