LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall 285-pounder Antonio Pelusi ranks at No. 31 in the first NCAA Division I Wrestling Coaches' Panel Rankings of the 2017-18 season. The final rankings will be one of the tools used as part of the selection process to determine the qualifiers for the 2018 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships, which are set to be held at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland on March 15-17.
Pelusi last qualified for the NCAA Championships in 2016 after securing an automatic bid with his fifth-place finish at the EIWA Tournament. The junior currently leads the Diplomats with a 15-5 overall record, including a 5-1 mark in duals. He enters this weekend with nine wins in his previous 10 matches and has placed in the top-three of two tournaments he has appeared in this year.
Wrestlers in each weight class will be measured by winning percentage, rating percentage index (RPI) and coaches' rankings to earn spots in their qualifying tournaments for the 2018 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships. The coaches' rankings are compiled by a vote of coaches representing each qualifying tournament.
