LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall wrestling enters its second week of competition by sending members of its team to the annual Bearcat Open on the campus of Binghamton University this Sunday.

Sunday, Nov. 12 - Bearcat Open (Hosted by Binghamton) – 9:00 AM
A Look at the Bearcat Open: The Jonathon Kaloust Bearcat Open, renamed in honor of the former Binghamton student-athlete and Navy SEAL who was killed in a training exercise in May of 2013, enters its eighth annual year of competition. The tournament will take place in Vestal, N.Y. at the Events Center.

Last season, Anthony Mancini led the way with a fourth-place finish at 184 pounds while Paddy Quinlan (141 pounds) earned a pair of wins in the championship bracket and recorded three pins on the day.

Last Week: The Diplomats opened their dual season last Sunday with a 30-6 loss to EIWA-opponent Hofstra on the road. Edgar Garcia (125 pounds) earned a 9-7 sudden victory decision while Brett Kulp (141 pounds) was also victorious in his overtime period with a 4-2 sudden victory win.

Several of F&M's grapplers took part in the Princeton Open on Saturday. Wil Gil wrestled back to a semifinal appearance in the 133-pound consolation bracket and finished his collegiate debut with a 3-2 record.
Competing unattached, Quinlan strung together three straight wins in the 149-pound wrestle backs and finished his event with a 3-2 mark, while Mancini – also competing unattached – outscored his opponents by a 22-0 margin through three consolation matches, before falling in the c-quarterfinals.

South Beach Duals Fan Package: F&M has been chosen to compete in the first South Beach Duals in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., during winter break. For the occasion, F&M wrestling has put together a fan package that includes one F&M beach towel, one F&M Wrestling visor, one pair of F&M sunglasses, and one ticket to a Dec. 27 reception co-hosted by the F&M Florida Alumni Chapter.
