Assistant Coach Taffur Competes at Dave Schultz Tournament

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Franklin & Marshall assistant wrestling coach Nestor Taffur competed on Friday at the Dave Schultz Memorial International Tournament at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. 

Taffur wrestled in the 74 kilo. weight class (163 lbs.) and faced tough competition in his pair of bouts. The former Boston University product and first-year Diplomat coach fell in his opening matchup with 4x All-American and 2x finalist Tyler Caldwell by a 12-2 tech. fall score. In the wrestle backs, Taffur's tournament came to an end with an 8-0 loss to former four-time NCAA qualifier and 2x All-American from Penn. State, Dan Valimont. 

One of the top international tournaments held in the U.S., the event is known for its strong field of National Champions, All-Americans and Olympic Medalists. 

The Diplomats return to the mat tomorrow when F&M hosts Princeton at the Mayser Center for a 6:30 p.m. matchup.
