PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's Richard Durso captured three-straight bouts on Sunday afternoon to take third place in the 141-pound bracket at the EIWA Championships in Philadelphia.
Durso earned a spot on the medal stand for the third-straight year, after taking the title last season.
The junior 141 pounder opened the day with a 6-4 decision over Matt Bystol of Columbia in the fourth round of the consolation bracket before advancing to the bronze medal match by defeating No. 2 Michael Nevinger of Cornell by default.
In the finals, Durso edged out Boston's Tyler Scotton by a narrow 3-0 decision to wrap up action at the tournament.
F&M closed out the weekend with 20 points and a 17th place finish. Cornell took the team title with 165.5 points, while Lehigh finished second after accumulating 101 points.
Durso will travel to the NCAA Championships from March 20-22 in Oklahoma City, Okla.
