A Look at the Mat Town Open
F&M travels to Lock Haven on Sunday to compete in the Mat Town Open. Last year, Richard Durso secured second place to highlight a group of three Diplomat placewinners at the event. Durso nabbed second at 141 pounds, while Andrew Murano and Colin Lahiff both finished fifth at 149 and 165, respectively.

Last Time Out
Durso ran through the 141-pound draw at the Navy Classic on Saturday, earning a first-place finish for the Franklin & Marshall wrestling team. The Diplomats wrapped up competition with a 12th place showing out of 14 teams.
Jason Bing went 1-2 on the day, dropping a 6-4 decision in the championship bracket before earning a 9-3 decision in the consolations. Robert Ruiz picked up a bye in the opening round at 133 before bowing out in the second. In the consolations, Ruiz took down teammate Scott Stevens by a 5-3 decision before finishing out the day with a 6-2 loss in the next round.
At 165, Rob King took his opening two bouts by decision at 4-1, 4-3 respectively, before dropping a bout by fall in the third.

In the Rankings
Junior 141-pounder Durso remains at No. 6 in the InterMat NCAA Division I Rankings. In the EIWA Rankings, Durso sits at No. 2, behind only Mike Nevinger of Cornell, who ranks fourth nationally.
Climbing the Charts
With his 9-0 start to the season, Durso now has 78 victories for his career, moving him into a tie for 8th with Jake Bucha '11 on F&M's career wins list. The program record belongs to Craig Blackman '81, who accumulated 117 victories.
Five Diplomats sit with winning records early on in the 2013-14 season. Durso leads the way with a perfect 9-0 mark that includes a 6-0 record in EIWA competition. Murano follows with an 8-3 record, while Stevens sits at 9-5. Alex Henry is 6-4, while Sharron Townsend has a 5-4 mark.
