LANCASTER, Pa. – Richard Durso has been ranked 22nd in the latest WrestlingReport.com Division I National Rankings released last night. This marks Durso's second appearance in the national rankings after beginning the year at No. 32.
The sophomore 141-pounder has been on a tear in 2012-13, posting a 22-3 mark that includes top-three finishes at each of the five tournaments in which he's competed. Most recently, Durso captured gold at the Brute Invitational on Dec. 29, a title that included a victory over No. 24 Dan Neff of Lock Haven in the championship bout, and took second at the F&M Open last Saturday. His narrow 7-6 loss by decision to Hofstra's Jamel Hudson in the finals of the F&M Open snapped an 11-match winning streak.
Durso is on pace for one of the finest individual seasons in F&M history, as his .880 winning percentage would currently rank first all-time in the single-season record book.
F&M returns to action Wednesday at home against Gettysburg at 7:00 p.m.
