LANCASTER, Pa. - Matt Fullowan has been ranked as the top 174-pound wrestler in the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) preseason rankings released earlier this week. Fullowan is one of two Diplomats to earn a spot in the rankings, as Colin Ely is ranked sixth in the 197-pound weight class.
Fullowan, a senior captain for the Diplomats, put together a fine showing in 2010-11, posting a 27-15 mark and advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in his career. He became F&M's first NCAA qualifier since Justin Herbert in the 2008-09 season and the first Diplomat to earn an automatic bid since 1998. Ely, also a senior captain, compiled a 16-5 record at the 197-poound spot last year for F&M.
F&M will open its season on Saturday, Nov. 5 at the Terrapin Duals in College Park, Md. The Diplomats' first match of the dual meet is against Bloomsburg at 10:00 am.
