COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Logan Lewis rolled to victory in the shot put for the second consecutive year to lead Franklin & Marshall on Sunday at the Centennial Conference (CC) Indoor Track and Field Championships. The Diplomats finished the meet in eighth place with 30 points, while Johns Hopkins took the team title with 193.5 points.
-Lewis eased to victory in the shot put, as his toss of 16.00 meters (52'-6") reset the meet record and landed .95 meters ahead of his closest competitor.
-A.J. Bates rushed to a second-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles, earning silver with a time of 8.76, missing out on gold by just .04 of a second.
-Bates turned in another strong performance in the 200-meter dash, taking sixth place after finishing the finals in 23.54.
The NCAA Championships begin on March 10 in Naperville, Ill. for those that qualify.
