EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall men's track team traveled to the All-American Meet at East Stroudsburg University on Saturday, making its presence felt on the track and in the field with numerous high finishes.
The highest F&M finish of the day came from Logan Lewis, who recorded a mark of 15.94 meters to take first place out of 45 competitors in the shot put. He repeated the feat in the discus, where his throw of 46.15 meters notched a career best and earned him first out of 49.
Evan Friend paced the Diplomat efforts on the track, posting a pair of high finishes. In the 200-meter dash, the senior notched a time of 21.82 to take second in a massive field of 106 competitors. He posted another high finish in the 100-meter dash, taking eighth out of 86 after clocking a time of 11.05.
Michael Hoffman continued to perform well in the hurdle events, beginning in the 110-meter hurdles as his time of 15.04 was good for third out of 36 participants. In the 400-meter hurdles, he recorded a time of 56.15 to take fifth place in a field of 37.
F&M notched a pair of quality performances in the javelin, headlined by Tanner Erisman's throw of 53.66 meters, which earned him 7th place out of 39. He was closely followed by Ryan Kozloski, whose toss of 49.94 meters netted him 14th.
Spencer Lyman represented the Diplomat distance crew in the 800-meter run, finishing 21st out of 73 competitors with a time of 2:01.82. Bryce Williams was next to cross the line for F&M, taking 26th after finishing in 2:02.47.
The Diplomats will be back on the track for the Penn Relays, which begin Thursday.
