LANCASTER, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall's Evan Friend was named the Centennial Conference (CC) Men's Track Athlete of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. The honor is the first of the season for Friend and the fourth for the Diplomats as a team.
The recognition comes after Friend recorded the highest F&M finish of the day as the Diplomats competed at the Loyola-Hopkins Invitational, which featured athletes from Divisions I-III. The senior clocked a time of 21.77 to take first in the 200-meter dash, marking the fourth-fastest time in Centennial Conference history. The senior also earned a high finish in the 100 meters, taking fifth at 11.02.
Friend and the Diplomats return to the track on Saturday, competing at the All-American Meet on the campus of East Stroudsburg University.
