LANCASTER, Pa. – Logan Lewis was named the Centennial Conference (CC) Field Athlete of the Week and Evan Friend earned CC Track Athlete of Week announced by the conference office on Monday. The honor is the third for Lewis and the first for Friend this season.
Lewis took first in the shot put at the Keogh Invitational on Saturday with a throw of 50'-10.75". On Sunday, he was the only Division III participant and placed sixth in the shot put at the Princeton Invitational. His throw of 51'-7.75" reset F&M's record set back in 1993 by Talavou Alailima '95 who had a distance of 51'-2".
Friend placed third in the 200-meters with a time of 22.46 as the race featured 19 runners from primarily Division I schools. The time was the fastest 200-meter recorded in the conference this year.
F&M returns to action next weekend at the Centennial Conference Championships hosted by Ursinus.
