Friend Wins 200-Meter Dash at All-American Meet

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Evan Friend won the 200-meter dash and placed second in the 100-meter dash to lead the Franklin & Marshall men's track & field at the All-American Meet, hosted by East Stroudsburg University, on Saturday. The invite featured Division II and III teams and was a non-scoring meet.

Friend's time of 22.03 in the 200-meter dash and his best time of the season and good for the win, while his mark of 10.86 in the 100-meter dash earned him a second-place finish.

Michael Whalen was fifth in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:04.92, while Brian Miceli was seventh at 10:09.92. Michael Hoffman placed seventh in the 400-meter hurdles at 56.92 and added an 11th-place spot in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.74. 

Mohamed Bah earned a ninth-place finish in the 400-meter and Philip Johnson was seventh in the 800-meter run (2:00.73) while Leo Generali finished ninth (2:00.91). 

Logan Lewis' throw of 45'-10" was good for fourth in the shot put, while Vincent Acosta placed seventh with a distance of 43'-04.25" and he added a seventh-place spot in the discus at 135'-06.75". Ryan Kozloski was seventh in the javelin (168'-06.75") and ninth in the triple jump at 41'-07.00".

The Diplomats are back in action on Thursday and Friday at the Penn Relays.
