Lewis Wins Shot Put to Lead F&M at Delaware Open

NEWARK, Del. – Logan Lewis won the shot put to lead Franklin & Marshall to a sixth-place finish out of 15 teams at the Delaware Open on Saturday in men's track and field action. The Diplomats totaled 83 points, while Stockton won the open with 174 points, followed by Monroe College with 169 and Delaware State at 168.

Lewis' distance in the shot put of 48' was good for the victory, while Vincent Acosta also earned points, finishing second with a throw of 41'-08.50". Ryan Kozloski's throw of 147'-04" earned him second-place points for F&M.

Evan Friend placed second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.79, and finished fourth in the 200-meter dash at 22.00. Leo Generali was eighth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 53.65, and Mohamed Bah crossed at 2:05.35 in the 800-meter run, good for fourth.

Michael Whalen (4:19.96) and Philip Johnson (4:22.60) placed fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 1500-meter run, while Michael Hoffman was third in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.06.

F&M is back in action next Saturday at the All-American Meet, hosted by East Stroudsburg.
