Friend, Kozloski, Jackson Earn CC POW Honors

LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall earned three out of the four Centennial Conference (CC) Player of the Week honors announced Monday. Evan Friend was named Men's Track Athlete of the Week and Ryan Kozloski earned Men's Field Athlete of the Week. On the women's side, Maya Jackson was tabbed as the Women's Field Athlete of the Week. 

This is Friend's first spring recognition, as the junior earned CC Track Athlete of the Week honors in the indoor season on Feb. 23, and this is Kozloski's first ever honor. Jackson is being recognized for the second time in her short career, as the sophomore earned the same honor on April 1, 2014. 

At the Little Three Meet on Saturday, Friend finished with two of F&M's 11 first-place finishes. He won the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.98, while he was also victorious in the 200-meter dash at 22.91. 

Kozloski also earned two first-place finishes, as the sophomore won the javelin throw with a distance of 160'-11.1" and the triple jump with a mark of 41'-4.1".

The men's team edged Gettysburg 136-134 to win their first Little Three Meet Title since 2005.

Jackson led F&M at the Little Three Meet with two first-place performances. She won the discus throw at 129'-3.6" to break the previous Little Three record, and she was also victorious in the javelin throw with a distance of 121'. The sophomore added a third-place finish in the shot put with a distance of 35'-7.6".

The women's squad finished with 98.50 points in third place, while Dickinson won the meet with 148 points, followed by Gettysburg with 126.50.

Both teams are back in action on Saturday at the Danny Curran Invitational hosted by Widener.
