LANCASTER, Pa. – After several strong performances led to gold medals and a third-place finish at the Centennial Conference (CC) Indoor Championships, Franklin & Marshall is poised to compete for a 2015 CC Outdoor Track & Field Title.

The Diplomats placed third out of nine teams with 83 points at the CC Indoor Championships to finish up their winter season. Evan Friend won gold in two races for F&M, coming in first in the 60-meter dash at 7.11, and the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.25, just.03 seconds off the program record, which Friend broke at the Marc Deneault Memorial Invitational hosted by Cornell on Feb. 21 at 22.22.
The distance medley relay team of Leo Generali, Derek Pawlush, Greg Olenginski, and Luk Olenginski took home a gold medal, finishing at 10:29.32. Vincent Acosta was another Diplomat who won gold, as the senior's throw of 14'-23" in the shot put was good for first place for the second year in a row.
In the 60-meter hurdles, freshman Michael Hoffman won silver, finishing at 8.63, while the 4x200 relay team of Friend, Krell, Hoffman, and Jinxin Chen also took home silver, crossing at 1:32.96. The final medal came when John Vallachi, Pawlush, L. Olenginski, and G. Olenginski earned silver in the 4x800 relay at 8:02.21.

With a core group of upperclassmen and freshmen that have performed well throughout the indoor season, 12th-year head coach Carl Schnabel expects strong showings throughout the upcoming season.
The Road Ahead
The outdoor season begins on Saturday when Dickinson hosts the 66th annual Little Three Meet. Other meets that highlight schedule include the Delaware Open on April 11, the Widener Invitational on April 18, and the Penn Relays on April 23-24, while the CC Outdoor Championships take place May 2-3, hosted by Muhlenberg.
