Friend Claims Gold and Sets School Record

SELLINGSGROVE, Pa. -- Evan Friend placed first in the 200-meter and reset the school record in the 60-meter to lead Franklin & Marshall at the Susquehanna Invitational Saturday afternoon. The invite included teams from Division II & III and was a non-team scoring meet. 

Friend ran 22.43 and placed first out of 65 runners in the 200-meter and also reset the school mark with a time of 7.09 in the 60-meter. Luk Olenginski took silver in the mile in 4:23.62 while Greg Olenginski finished fifth in 4:30.22.

Brad Krell placed eighth in the 400-meter at 52.22 in a race that featured 60 participants while Bryan Andrews took ninth in the 3000 in 9:05.78. Logan Lewis and Vincent Acosta placed seventh and eighth respectively in the shot put with throws of 46'-10" and 45'-9.75".

F&M returns to action next Saturday at the Cornell Open before traveling to Haverford on March 1st for the Centennial Conference Championship.
