Friend and Olenginski Claim Gold at Kutztown

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Evan Friend took the top in the 200 and Greg Olenginski placed first in the mile to lead Franklin & Marshall at the Kutztown Collegiate Invitational Friday evening. The invite was a non-team scoring event and featured teams from division II and III.

Friend turned in a 23.10 in the 200 for first place in a field of 34 runners and picked up a bronze in the 55-meter at 6.71. Greg Olenginski placed first in the mile at 4:36.85 and ran 1:10.17 in the 500 for a second place finish. John Vallachi took sixth in the mile at 4:54.13 and Luk Olenginski picked up a silver in the 3000 in 9:15.74.

Leo Generali placed sixth in 1000-meter in 2:50.51 and took 11th in the 400 with a time of 53.85. Brad Krell was slightly faster in the 400 at 53.60 for eighth place.

Vincent Acosta threw 42'-1.50" in the shot put for a fourth place finished while Damont Hardnett took sixth at 41'-11.25".

F&M returns to action next Saturday when the Diplomats travel to Lebanon Valley.
