LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall men's track & field team will start competition at the 2014 Centennial Conference (CC) Championships on Saturday at Swarthmore. The three-day event will take place at Clothier Field Stadium.

F&M hopes to build off a strong fourth-place performance at the 2014 CC Indoor Championships and a seventh-place finish at last year's outdoor event.

Several Diplomat competitors enter this weekend's championships at or near the top of the CC with their outdoor performances. Junior Vincent Acosta, who grabbed gold in last year's discus throw, and Ryan Kozloski are looking to earn hardware this weekend. Acosta won the shot put at the Little Three Meet and the discus throw at the Paul Kaiser Classic, while Kozloski won the javelin throw at the Little Three Meet and is seeded second in this year's event.

Evan Friend, who came away with the top spot in the 200-meter dash (22.15) at the Widener Invitational on April 19, is ranked first in the same race this weekend, while Brad Krell is tabbed for the ninth-seeded position.

Derek Pawlush and Greg Olenginski rank fourth and fifth in the CC, respectively, in the 800-meter run, while Luk Olenginski ranks eighth.

Day one of the CC Championships begins Friday with the decathlon, pole vault, heptathlon, and 10,000 meters.
