F&M Competes at Widener Invitational

CHESTER, Pa. – Evan Friend, Derek Pawlush, and Ryan Kozloski gave solid performances to lead the Franklin & Marshall men's track & field team on Saturday at the Widener Invitational.

Friend earned a first-place spot in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.15, while Brad Krell finished eighth at 23.02. In the 100-meter dash, Friend placed third with a time of 11.16.

Mohamed Bah placed eighth in the 400-meter dash at 51.58, while Krell's time of 51.70 was good for 10th.

Derek Pawlush placed first in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:54.34, while Greg Olenginski finished fourth (1:55.27) and Luk Olenginski placed sixth (1:56.33).

In the 4x400 relay, a team of Pawlush, the Olenginski twins, and Leo Generali finished second at 3:23.27, less than a second behind Widener's team (3:22.47).

On Friday, James Hamilton earned a third-place spot in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 34:12.77.

Kozloski's javelin throw of 163'-04" was good for second place, while Nicholas Fromell placed fifth with a distance of 149'-08".

F&M is back in action next Saturday when the Diplomats compete in the Shippensburg Paul Keiser Classic.
