Diplomats Compete at Delaware Open

NEWARK, De. – The Franklin & Marshall men's track and field team had many top performances throughout the Delaware Open on Saturday. The Open featured several Division I schools, as well as many Division III teams.

Among Division III opponents, Leo Generali earned a sixth-place finish in the 400-meter dash at 50.94, while Derek Pawlush finished eighth with a time of 51.05. Pawlush added a third-place finish in the 1500-meter run at 4:06.54, while Mohamed Bah placed ninth in the 800-meter run at 2:03.21 and Brad Krell finished 11th with a time of 2:03.93.

In the 3000-meter run, James Hamilton had an impressive showing at 9:41.16, while Matthew Kershner finished fourth at 10:11.28. 

Teddy Uzamere's jump of 5'-08.75" earned him a second place spot, while Bob McCarron placed third in the shot put with a throw of 38'-11.75".  Vincent Acosta earned a fifth-place position in the discus throw with a distance of 118'-07", while McCarron's 104'-04" was good for 10th.

Ryan Kozloski's javelin throw of 175'-03" earned him a third-place spot to finish up the day for F&M.

The Diplomats are back in action this weekend at the Widener University Invitational with the 5K and 10K on Friday and the remainder of the events on Saturday.
