2014 Diplomats

The Diplomats finished fourth of out nine teams at the CC Indoor Championships to finalize this past winter season. Johns Hopkins took the CC title with 204 points, while Haverford placed second with 138 points followed by Dickinson with 104.

The highlight of the event was Vincent Acosta and the 4x200 relay team of sophomores, Evan Friend, Brad Krell, Alex Osei and junior Derek Pawlush who won gold in their respected events. Acosta's throw of 47'-10.50" earned the junior gold, while the relay team's time of 1:32.72 was good for the gold.

F&M will be represented by a slew of upperclassmen whom put together strong performances in the CC indoor championships. Junior Luke Olenginski took fifth in the 800 meter run, while the 4x800 relay team of Philip Johnson, Pawlush, L. Olenginski, and Greg Olenginski took second.

With several talented upperclassmen, as well as many freshmen and sophomores who are ready to contribute, 11th-year head coach Carl Schnabel expects strong results this upcoming season. Acosta took home first-place in the indoor shot-put event at the CC Championships last month and team captain Bob McCarron is expected to compete in the discus throw. The Road Ahead

F&M kicks off its outdoor season when the Diplomats host the Little Three, which is tentatively scheduled for March 22. Another meet that highlights the schedule is the All-American Meet at East Stroudsburg University on April 19, and the Paul Keiser Classic at Shippensburg University on April 26, while the CC Championships will take place on May 3-4.
