Michaelis Named Academic All-District

LANCASTER, Pa. - Nils Michaelis has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 4 Track & Field/Cross Country Team. To be nominated for the CoSIDA Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.3 or higher cumulative grade point average and be a significant contributor to the team.

As a first team selection, Michaelis now advances to the Capital One Academic All‐America® Team ballot, where first‐, second‐ and third‐team All‐America honorees will be selected in early June.

Michaelis (Hilden, Germany/Lancaster Catholic) earned the second All-America honors of his career at last weekend's NCAA Outdoor Championships, claiming fifth in the 110-meter hurdles. The senior nabbed his other All-America honor in 2011 with a fourth-place finish in the 110 hurdles.

In addition to his success at the national meet, Michaelis has captured five Centennial Conference (CC) outdoor gold medals, one silver, and one bronze, as well as one CC gold in indoor competition. He owns the school and CC record in the 110 hurdles (14.44)

Michaelis also excelled in the classroom at F&M and is a 2013 graduate with a degree in Business, Organizations, and Society.
