BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Luk Olenginski took first place in the 800 meters to pace the Franklin & Marshall men's track & field team at the Moravian Greyhound Invitational on Saturday. There was no team scoring in the event.
Olenginski defeated multiple Divison I and II opponents en route to gold in the 800. The sophomore finished in a time of 1:56.27 to grab first in a field of 58 runners.
Nils Michaelis also put together a solid showing for the Diplomats with a pair of top-10 finishes. Michaelis claimed third in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15:01, and also nabbed eighth in the 400 hurdles at 56.57.
Andrew Marra registered a 10th-place showing in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a mark of 10:17.66.
Other F&M runners who notched top-20 finishes in track events with large fields included Taaj Amin (19th/11.58) in the 100, Brad Krell (19th/52.13) in the 400, and Bryan Andrews (19th/4:13.18) in the 1500.
Vincent Acosta placed 18th in both the shot put (41'-06.00") and discus (123'-07") in fields of 42 and 40 competitors, respectively.
The Diplomats return to action next Saturday at the Paul Kaiser Classic hosted by Shippensburg.
