Luk Olenginski, 4x800 Relay Take First at Millersville Metrics

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - Luk Olenginski placed first in the 800 meters and also teamed with Bryan Andrews, Derek Pawlush and Greg Olenginski to nab gold in the 4x800 relay to pace the Franklin & Marshall men's track & field team at the Millersville Metrics on Saturday. The Diplomats finished eighth in the 22-team field with 43 points. 

Luk Olenginski claimed first in the 800 for the second straight week, crossing in 1:55.65, with Pawlush close behind in third with a mark of 1:56.60. The duo later grabbed their second golds of the day in the 4x800, teaming up with Greg Olenginski and Andrews for a time of 8:03.23 - over 12 seconds faster than the closest competitors. 

Brian Rivera took fourth in the 400-meter hurdles at 57.02, while Francis Blancero placed fifth in the 3000-meter steeplechase at 9:58.67, with Angelo Arce taking sixth at 10:06.37. 

The Diplomats return to action next Saturday at the Delaware Open and Bucknell Outdoor Classic.
