LANCASTER, Pa. – Taaj Amin picked up two first place finishes to pace Franklin & Marshall at the inaugural Coach I Open hosted by F&M Saturday afternoon. Amin struck gold in the 55-meter at 6.62 and ran 23.69 in the 200-meter.
Brad Krell had a first and third place finish in the 400-meter and 55-meter. Krell placed first in the 400 in 52.89 and ran a 6.9 in the 55-meter.
F&M swept the top-three sport in the 1,000-meter with Luk Olenginski and Greg Olenginski leading way in 2:37.82 and 2:37.94. Derek Pawlush took third in 2:40.92. Third through fifth went to the Diplomats in the 800-meter. Bryan Andrews took third (2:02.76) followed by Francis Blancero in fourth (2:03.76) and not far behind was Phil Johnson at 2:03.81.
Teddy Uzamere had a 6'-0" in the high jump for first place.
Three teams for F&M placed in the top-three in the 4x400 relay. Blancero, James Hamilton, Andrew Marra and David Raffman took first in 3:43.39 while Michael Supron, the Olenginski brothers and Pawlush ran 3:44.68 for second and Adam Eller, Andrews, Phil Johnson and Angelo Arce took third in 3:44.73.
F&M returns to action next weekend for the Centennial Conference Championships hosted by Ursinus.
