NEWARK, Del. – Luk Olenginski placed first in the 1,000-meter to lead Franklin & Marshall at the Thomson Invitational hosted by Delaware Saturday afternoon. The event featured teams from all three divisions and was non-team scoring invite.
Olenginski ran 2:34.44 in the field of eight runners with Greg Olenginski finishing in the top half in fourth with a time of 2:37. Nils Michaelis turned in a strong performance in the 60-meter hurdles with a third place finish in 8.52.
Taaj Amin took seventh in the 60-meter dash that featured 64 sprinters with a time of 7.22. The 4x400 relay team of Derek Pawlush, Phil Johnson and the Olenginski brothers took sixth at 3:32.88 while Brad Krell and Bryan Andrews both finished with top-ten performances. Krell placed ninth in the 500-meter at 1:10.84 and Andrews ran 9:10.21 in the 3,000-meter to finish tenth.
Vincent Acosta threw 43'-7.75" for seventh in shot put.
F&M returns to action Feb. 1 at Susquehanna.
