EWING, N.J.- Luk Olenginski broke the school record in the 800 meters to highlight the performance of three Franklin & Marshall men's track & field athletes at the TCNJ Last Chance Meet on Thursday, while Tim Tillman also represented F&M in the decathlon at the ECAC Championships.
Luk Olenginski and Greg Olenginski each improved slightly upon their season-best times in the 800 meters at TCNJ, but were unable to post NCAA provisional qualifying marks. Luk placed sixth with a school-record time of 1:54.00, breaking the school mark for the second time this year, while Greg took ninth at 1:56.47.
Vincent Acosta also competed in the event for the Diplomats, placing eighth in both the discus and the shot put. The freshman recorded a toss of 121'-11" in the discus and 39'-01.25" in the shot put.
Tillman competed in the decathlon on Thursday at the team's lone representative at the ECAC Championships hosted by RPI. Tillman currently sits in fifth out of 11 competitors halfway through the event with a total of 3,168 points. He captured third in the long jump (6.27m), fourth in the shot put (10.86m), fourth in the 400 (52.35), sixth in the high jump (1.76m), and ninth in the 100 (11.84).
Tillman returns to action tomorrow for the final five events of the decathlon on the campus of RPI in Troy, N.Y.
