Diplomats Conclude Husky Open

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - Steve Barna registered a pair of top-five finishes to lead the Franklin & Marshall men's track & field team at the Bloomsburg Husky Open. The event featured no team scoring.

Barna placed third in the shot put with a toss of 45'05'', while also taking fourth in the discus at 132'01''. Vincent Acosta turned a third-place throw in the discus with a mark of 136'08'', and secured 11th in the shot put at 40'00''.

Mohamed Bah also competed in a pair of events for the Diplomats, taking fifth in the 400 meters (52.91) and 12th in the 200 meters (25.11).

In the 1500 meters, Angelo Arce delivered a top-10 placing, nabbing ninth with a time of 4:21.37. Francis Blancero crossed in 12th at 4:24.93.

Phil Johnson finished 10th in the 800 meters at 2:03.56.

On Friday night at Kutztown's Mondschein Multi, Tim Tillman delivered the highlight of the men's track & field weekend, setting a new school record in the decathlon as F&M's lone competitor in the event. Tillman totaled 5,492 points, beating Chris Williams' '05 mark (5,089) by over 400 points.

The Diplomats return to action on Friday for day one of the Shippensburg Paul Kaiser Classic.
