Rivera, 4x400 Relay Victorious at Little Three Meet

CARLISLE, Pa. - Brian Rivera won the 400 meters and the 4x400 meter relay team also nabbed first place to highlight the Franklin & Marshall men's track & field team's performance at the Little Three Meet on Saturday. The Diplomats finished second out of three teams with a total of 108 points. Dickinson (175) captured the team title, while Gettysburg (76) finished third.

Rivera secured the lone F&M individual win of the meet with a top finish in the 400. The junior crossed the finish line with a time of 59.91. He also tallied a second-place finish in the long jump with a jump of 5.77 meters. The other top placing of the day came from the 4x400 meter relay team, which earned its gold with a mark of 3:35.16.

Greg Olenginski placed second in the 1500 meters at 4:16.70, with Greg Duckloe taking fourth in 4:18.56.

In the 800 meters, Luk Olenginski nabbed third with a time of 1:59.82, followed closely by Derek Pawlush in fourth at 2:00.50.

Ibrahim Kamara and Vincent Acosta each registered a pair of top-five finishes for the Diplomats. Kamara raced to a third-place finish in the 200 meters at 24.28, and also placed fourth in the 100 at 11.95. Acosta took third in the discus with a throw of 36.90 meters, and grabbed fourth in the shot put at 12.40 meters. Steve Barna placed fifth in the shot put with a mark of 11.24 meters.

In the 3000 meter steeplechase, Steve Jordan captured third in 10:17.98, with Angelo Arce just behind in the fourth. Francis Blancero notched fifth in 10:20.63.

The Diplomats return to action on Friday at the Army Dick Shea Open.
