F&M Opens Spring Slate at Hurricane Invitational

CORAL GABLES, Fla. - Franklin & Marshall opened its spring track & field slate at the Hurricane Invitational hosted by Miami on Saturday in a field of primarily Division I schools. There was no team scoring in the event.

Angelo Arce posted the top finish of the day for F&M, taking second in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 10:06.94.

Steve Barna put together a solid showing for Diplomats, capturing third in the shot put with a throw of 42'8.25''. Barna also placed fourth in the discus throw with a mark of 126'03''.

In the 1500 meters, Luk Olenginski (4:09.37) and Greg Olenginski (4:09.97) crossed the line back-to-back with 10th and 11th place finishes, respectively. Joe Strawitz nabbed 13th with a mark of 4:14.77.

Brian Rivera secured sixth in the 400 meter hurdles at 59.10.

F&M returns north for the Dickinson Little Three meet next Saturday at 1:00 pm.
