HAVERFORD, Pa.-Kwaku Anno set a school record in the 300 meter dash at Saturday's Jack Pyrah Invitational hosted by Villanova. Anno ran a 36.32, .49 faster than the previous record held by Jake Gomolinski's '08. Gomolinski recorded a time of 36.81. The invitational was a non-team scoring meet and featured athletes from all three divisions.
Anno placed fourth in the 300m, crossing .22 behind winner Rashad Little from La Salle. His time was the fastest of any division III runner. Anno also placed fourth in the long jump, turning in a 21'-2". Temple's Time Boeni won the event with a jump of 23'-04".
Freshman Nils Michaelis had an impressive first meet as a Diplomat. Michaelis placed fifth in the 55m hurdles and 13th in 55m dash. Both finishes were the fastest among division III competitors. Michaelis ran a 7.98 in hurdlers and a 6.77 in the dash. Temple's Josue Louis placed first in the 55m, running a 7.79. Villanova's Michael Lynch finished the 55m dash in 6.50, finishing in first place.
F&M returns to action on January 23rd when the Diplomats travel to Susquehanna. Meet time is scheduled for 10:00 am.
