Tillman Sits in Third After Day One of Decathlon

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Following day one of the decathlon at the Centennial Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Swarthmore, Tim Tillman sits in third place after five events with 2,869 points. Only 214 points separate Tillman and Ursinus' Nick Giarratano, who is currently in first.

Tillman picked up 715 points with a second place finish in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.68 seconds. Leaping 5.80 meters in the long jump he collected 544 points and landed third place.

Tying for sixth in the high jump, Tillman cleared a height of 1.59 meters and garnered 457 points. His lowest finish of the day came in the shot put with a throw of 9.12 meters for seventh place and 433 points.

Crossing the line in 52.11 seconds for a second place finish in the 400-meter dash, Tillman picked up 720 points.

The decathlon, along with the rest of the CC Championships, continues on Saturday, May 1. Results will be made available after completion of the meet.
