Season in Review: 2019 F&M Men’s Tennis

Franklin & Marshall men's tennis delivered another strong campaign in 2019, remaining one of the top teams in the Centennial Conference (CC), earning the program's 10th-straight Tournament appearance after finishing the year with an 8-9, 5-4 CC record.

F&M entered the CC postseason as the No. 5 seed, earning a trip to the team's eighth-straight CC Semifinal with a 5-3 victory over Dickinson in the First Round. The Diplomats fell to eventual-champions No. 24 Johns Hopkins in the Semis by a 6-0 score.

The Diplomats opened CC action with a bang, sweeping McDaniel by a 9-0 score on March 28 and taking down Ursinus 8-1 on April 2. F&M closed out the regular season with a critical 7-2 win over Muhlenberg to earn the No. 5 seed.

Seniors Isaac Salas '19 and Zack Levin '19 represented the Diplomats on the All-CC Team. The duo earned Honorable Mention recognition after finishing the season with a 9-8, 5-4 CC record from the No. 2 spot. The pair registered a five-match winning streak that culminated in an 8-7 (7-4) victory against regionally-ranked opponent Salisbury on March 30.  

Salas was also honored in singles action, being named to the Second Team. He led the Diplomats from the No. 1 singles spot throughout the season, ending with a 5-9, 4-4 CC mark, including a crucial 6-0, 6-0 sweep against Muhlenberg on April 27 to help secure F&M's playoff berth.  

Salas finished his career tied for 18th in wins with a 36-32 record while Levin finished tied for 13th at 39-35.
