Diplomats Fall to No. 23 Washington and Lee

LEXINGTON, Va. – The Franklin & Marshall men's tennis team dropped a 7-2 match to No. 23 Washington and Lee on Sunday afternoon in non-conference action. The Diplomats fell to 7-8 on the season, while the Generals improved to 14-4.

Ross Silverberg (No. 12 in the Atlantic South region) faced off with the regions No. 1 player in Hayden White but went down in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3.

At the No. 4 position, Doug Kaplan earned a victory for F&M by outlasting Christopher Hu of W&L, 7-6 (10-8), 7-5. Nolan Bacchieri followed at No. 5 with a 6-1, 7-5 win.

In doubles competition, William MacArthur and Bacchieri battled against the No. 3 ranked doubles team in the region but Taylor Shamshiri and Michael Holt came out victorious for the Generals with an 8-4 score.

The Diplomats return to the court on Thursday to face Muhlenberg in Centennial Conference (CC) action. The contest is set to begin at 5:00 p.m.
