INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Franklin & Marshall's Christopher Schiavone opened competition at the NCAA Swimming Championship on Wednesday morning, taking part in the preliminaries of the 50-yard Freestyle. The freshman just missed out on advancing to tonight's finals after qualifying 34th.
Schiavone entered the event as the 15th seed with a time of 20.40. His preliminary time of 20.80 placed him 34th, missing out on the top 16 slots that advance to the finals.
The Mount Joy native returns to the pool tomorrow morning for the preliminaries of the 200-yard Freestyle. That session is set to begin at 10:00 a.m.
