Diplomats Fall to Blue Jays, Eagles

BALTIMORE, Md. – Franklin & Marshall headed to Baltimore to take on Johns Hopkins and Mary Washington on Friday night in nonconference swimming action, falling 193.5-65.5 to the host Blue Jays and dropping a 156-105 decision to the Eagles.

Eric Dietrich-Peterson continued to perform well early in his collegiate career, tallying a trio of high finishes. In the 100-yard freestyle, his time of 49.24 was good for second place. He was followed by Daniel Sanders in the event, who posted a time of 49.82 to grab third.

Dietrich-Peterson again reached the podium in the 200-yard freestyle, taking third place in 1:47.29. He rounded out his day in the 100-yard butterfly, taking fourth with a time of 52.58.

Timothy Gould worked his way into a pair of solid finishes in the backstroke events, turning in a time of 2:02.29 to take third in the 200-yard backstroke. Maxwell Lyons was right behind him, taking fourth in 2:03.19. Gould posted a fourth-place finish of his own in the 100-yard edition, finishing in 56.53.

Reeves Connolly posted the final third-place finish of the day, posting a time of 10:42.20 in the 1000-yard freestyle.

Matthew Pozmanter (1000 free), Cody Kalinowski (200 fly), and Eric Lang (200 IM) also added fourth-place efforts.

Results of this competition were not immediately made available by the host institution. F&M returns to the pool on Friday for day one of the F&M Invitational.
