GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's men's swimming team took to the pool for day three of the Centennial Conference (CC) Championships on Sunday morning, looking to move up from fourth place on the final day of competition. Three swimmers secured slots in tonight's finals as the Diplomats (331.5 points) chase Gettysburg (470), Swarthmore (450), and Washington (394.5).
Eric Lang continued his impressive weekend by qualifying for the finals of the 200-yard breaststroke. The sophomore's time of 2:09.36 was the third fastest in the preliminaries and put him in the hunt for gold in tonight's finals.
Timothy Gould also returned to the pool, qualifying for the finals of the 200-yard backstroke after clocking a time of 1:56.44 to take fifth in the prelims. Jack Currie finished in 1:59.39 to take 14th and claim a lane in tonight's B final.
Daniel Sanders narrowly missed out on qualifying for the finals of the 100-yard freestyle, qualifying ninth with a time of 47.60. Ryan Caffrey, whose time of 47.84 placed him 15th after the prelims, will join him in the B final.
Action at the CC Championships concludes tonight beginning at 6:00 p.m. for the sixth session of competition. Medals will be awarded for the 1650-yard freestyle, 200-yard backstroke, 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard breaststroke, 200-yard butterfly, and 400-yard freestyle relay.
