SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall returned to action for the first time in 2016, defeating Susquehanna 150.5-111.5 on Saturday afternoon in men's swimming. With the win, the Diplomats improved their record the 1-3 on the season.

Cody Kalinowski led the Diplomats to a sweep in the 200-yard butterfly, finishing first with a time of 2:04.61. He was followed by Richard Perry in second (2:04.75) and David Burton in third (2:06.25).

Burton and Kalinowski teamed up again in the 100-yard butterfly, as Burton took top honors at 55.62 while Kalinowski took second at 55.82.

Perry added to his medal haul in the 500-yard freestyle, taking first after finishing in 5:02.54. The sophomore rounded out his day with another second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle, clocking a time of 1:49.01.

Also turning in multiple strong performances was Eric Lang, earning a pair of first-place finishes in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:19.04) and the 200-yard IM (2:01.91). Lang added a second-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke, recording a time of 1:00.84 to reach the podium for a third time.

Daniel Sanders and Timothy Gould also had productive afternoons, earning a first and second place each. Sanders took first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.18 before finishing second in the 100-yard freestyle at 48.62. Gould claimed victory in the 200-yard backstroke after clocking a time of 1:59.90, followed up by a second-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke (55.60).

Senior captain Patrick Greaney rounded out the first-place finishes for F&M, turning in a time of 10:27.09 to win the 1000-yard freestyle.

The Diplomats return to competition on Friday, heading to McDaniel for a Centennial Conference meet at 6:00 p.m.
