LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall dropped a 180-65 decision on Saturday afternoon in Centennial Conference (CC) men's swimming action. The Diplomats fell to 0-2 overall and 0-2 in the conference while the Garnet improved to 2-0 overall and in the CC.
Freshman Daniel Sanders continued the hot start to his collegiate career, collecting two second-place finishes on the day. In the 100-yard breaststroke, Sanders' time of 1:01.32 was good for silver while his time of 48.57 was good for second in 100-yard freestyle.
Patrick Greaney led the way in the 1000-yard freestyle, finishing in 10:31.24 to take second. Ryan Caffrey and Eric Lang also notched second place finishes, with Lang earning his with a time of 4:25.60 in the 400-yard IM while Caffrey finished the 100-yard butterfly in 54.56 to finish as runner-up.
Lang added a third-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle, while Timothy Gould claimed bronze in both the100-yard backstroke (55.40) and 200-yard backstroke (2:04.33). Richard Perry also finished third in two events, the 200 butterfly (2:06.20) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:01.27).
The Diplomats return to action on Friday, hosting Johns Hopkins at 6:30 p.m.
