Five Diplomats Advance to Day Three Finals

LANCASTER, Pa. – Five members of the Franklin & Marshall men's swimming team advanced into day three finals at the Centennial Conference (CC) Championships. The Diplomats currently sit in sixth place overall with 256 points, while Gettysburg leads with 598 points.

A pair of Diplomats advanced to the final of the 200-yard backstroke as Andreas Lair Ferrari (1:55.27) and Jack Currie (1:57.10) finished sixth and seventh respectively.

Two more F&M swimmers moved on to tonight's final of the 100-yard backstroke as John Zipp swam to the fifth-fastest time at 47.21, and Dennis Chen placed seventh with a time of 47.89. Ian Swindell (48.69) and Matthew Murphy (48.79) earned spots in this evening's consolations. 

In the 200-yard breaststroke, Patrick Greaney (2:13.76) and William Cappuccio (2:19.27) advanced to the consolations, finishing in ninth and 16th respectively. Richard Denton earned a spot in tonight's 200-yard butterfly final with a time of 1:56.84, while Jordan Alter moved on to the consolations at 2:04.40.

A CC Champion will be crowned tonight at 6:00 p.m. with finals for the 1650-yard freestyle, 200-yard backstroke, 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard breaststroke, 200-yard butterfly, and the 400-yard freestyle relay.
