Diplomats Sixth After Day One

LANCASTER, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall's men's swimming team sits in sixth place with 99 points after day one of the Centennial Conference (CC) Championships. Gettysburg is in first with 236 points, followed by Dickinson with 174 and Ursinus with 156.

A team of Dennis Chen, Jin Hwang, Matthew Murphy, and John Zipp finished fourth in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:26.60. In the 500-yard freestyle consolation event, Andreas Lair Ferrari (4:46.34), Patrick Meehan (4:49.26), and Tim Landon (4:49.44) placed second, fourth, and fifth, respectively.

In the consolation race of the 200-yard individual medley, Richard Denton touched third at 1:58.51, while Patrick Greaney finished fourth at 1:59.30. Chen placed sixth in 50-yard freestyle final with a time of 21.76, while Zipp touched eighth at 21.93. 

The CC Championships resume tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. with preliminaries for the 200-yard medley relay, 400-yard individual medley, 100-yard butterfly, 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke, 100-yard backstroke, and 800-yard freestyle relay.
