F&M First After Sessions One

LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's men's swimming team holds a strong lead after day one of the F&M Invitational. The Diplomats accumulated 122 points after two events on Friday night and have a 21-point lead over second-place Washington & Lee College, while Widener and Ramapo follow respectively.

In the first event, the 200-yard freestyle relay, a team of Dennis Chen, Jin Hwang, Matthew Murphy, and John Zipp placed second with a time of 1:27.77. Also picking up points in the event for the Diplomats was a team of Ian Swindell, Jack Currie, Patrick Greaney, and William Cappuccio that finished eighth with a time of 1:32.19.

In the 1650 relay, Tim Landon touched the wall second with a time of 17:05.23, while Reeves Connolly followed with a third-place finish in 17:12.50.

Paul EdwardsPatrick Meehan, and Jordan Alter rounded out the top-10 finishers for F&M in the event. Edwards placed sixth in 17:22.85, Meehan touched ninth with a time of 17:32.70 and Alter finished 10th with a time of 17:37.25.

F&M continues the Invitational tomorrow with finals set for 6:00 p.m.
