Six Diplomats Advance to Day Two Finals

LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's men's swimming team advanced six into tonight's day two finals of the Centennial Conference Championships.

Tim Landon advanced into the 400-yard individual medley finals with an eighth-place showing and a time of 4:15.87. Max Blum's 10th-place finish earned him a spot in the consolation round after he touched the wall at 4:26.02.

In the 100-yard butterfly, Richard Denton advanced to the finals with a third-place finish at 52.09. Teammate Zach Wilt also earned a spot by swimming the eighth-fastest time at 53.11.

John Zipp finished the 200-yard freestyle with the fourth-fastest time to advance into the final. Jake Reingold and Jin Hwang will compete in the consolations after finishing with the 12th and 14th fastest time, respectively. Reingold touched the wall at 1:46.42, followed by Hwang at 1:47.54.

Patrick Greaney advanced into the finals for F&M in the 100-yard breaststroke by swimming the seventh-fastest time of the session at 1:00.44. William Cappuccio reached the consolations with a 12th-place finish at 1:02.67.

In the 100-yard backstroke, Patrick Musselman earned a spot in the finals with a seventh-place finish at 55.21. Teammate Carl Patterson reached the consolations after a 16th-place finish at 58.51.

Day two finals will be held tonight at 6:00 p.m. where medals will be awarded in the 200-yard medley relay, 400-yard individual medley, 100-yard butterfly, 200-yard breaststroke, 100-yard backstroke and the 800-yard freestyle relay.
